Family Resource Management

Family Resource Management – An understanding of the decisions individuals and families make about developing and allocating resources including time, money, material assets, energy, friends, neighbors, and space, to meet their goals.  (ncfr.org)

Family Resource Management is first identifying the resources that a family has and helping them to realize what they have to work with.  The next task will be to work with them to understand how they are currently using their resources.  This is important because families need to know that they are actively choosing to use their resources a certain way and then that leads into how they can use them differently.  The final stage of this process is to look at their goals in how they want to be using their resources and helping them to tangibly plan out how they can succeed to meet their goals.
